Hi there —

I've been debating with myself on how to write this email all weekend because it sounds so cliche, but your safety is my priority. And part of a safe, online conversation experience at Dayoff is being able to control who messages you.

I'll name what this is for: men sending DMs that women didn't ask for. It's the oldest problem in apps like this one, and Dayoff isn't magically exempt.

So there's a control now. You set an age range, and it binds men — plus anyone who hasn't told us their gender, because we can't tell the difference. Women can message you at any age.

I understand that both age and gender are voluntary information provided. If you feel like someone is bothering you or lying about something, please report them or message me in private. I'll make sure we keep the community safe and respectful for everyone.

And as always, feel free to message me directly with any questions or concerns.

Meetup!

Also, on that note, I want to extend the invitation to chat with me on a Google Meet call. I've been talking with some of you guys and it's been interesting and insightful to hear your feedback so far. I can probably put a formal invitation together, but please feel free to send me a DM and we can set something up. Just a 15 minute call would go a long way.

Oh, and I've also been spending some time this week growing our Discord channel. If you feel more comfortable on that, then great! I'm basically positioning our Discord as a way to provide user feedback, share profiles, discuss ideas, or just say hi.
